In a statement, the FIM, the International Motorcycling Federation, has made official the return of 1000cc for MotoGP 2012, with some additions. This is essentially the legislation adopted by the houses and, basically, from the Grand Prix Commission "at the Sepang test, which was ratified in un'odierna meeting in Barcelona with the presence of Carmelo Ezpeleta (Dorna), Claude Danis (FIM), Herve Poncharal (IRTA), Takanao Tsubouchi (MSMA) with the participation of Ignacio Verneda (FIM Sports Director), Javier Alonso (Dorna) and Paul Butler (Secretary).
Before getting into more technical detail in a later article, mainly the engines are expected from 1000 cubic centimeters, 4-cylinder, a bore of 81mm, a reservoir of 21 liters, weighing 153 kg, while the 800s (which will continue to run with the new motion), stood at 150 kg. Engines? Like now, 6 per season for the pilot.
For teams involved in "CRT" (Claiming Rule Teams), list of teams that will be made official next month of May, there will be opportunities to have 12 engines for the championship and take a tank of 24 liters.
What will these teams? Individuals (FB Corse, Inmotec) and, who knows, maybe even some house officer in difficulty (Suzuki?): For this to wait until next May.
